How to Convert Your Travel Habit into a Steady Flow of Income

make money on flights
How to convert travel habit into steady flow of income? Hmnn… sounds impossible? Not at all… Imagine one day, you wake up in the morning in a hotel room in one of the places that you love to visit, as you check your Gmail inbox, you are astounded by what you have just seen.

It says “You’ve Got a Commission of $6,000.” Every month you are receiving that amount in your PayPal account while traveling in all beautiful beaches around the world. Enjoying life with your family and love ones and absolutely doing nothing, only to enjoy life.

If you are a frequent traveler, your chance of becoming what you have just imagined is so high. If you loved to stay in many beautiful places all around the world, if you have traveled into many international destinations, you must be spending a lot of money for your flights and hotels.

You cannot just empty your pocket all the time or even your mom’s bank account. But if you are that really rich, well, expenses might not be an issue. But what if instead of spending money during travel, you are making a lot of money from it? Sounds great? Yes of course but how?

Make Money by Telling People Where to Book a Flight

One of the ways to convert your travel habit into a steady flow of income is to earn money by telling people where to book a flight. Helping people is the most profitable thing a man can do. By giving value to others in the field of travel and tours, anyone can make money out of it.

The thing is, if you are a frequent traveler, you must at least know some of the best travel sites or airlines that offer cheapest international flights. You may be aware about some strategies how to book cheapest flights online or when  is the best time to buy cheapest flights or anything like that. If you can give a piece of advice to help people to the same, you could be making a lot of money.

Travel niche in the world of Internet Marketing is highly lucrative. This makes a lot of travel sites and blogs to earn a lot of money. This is due to the fact that for every flight sold, the price is more than doubled the price of a donuts. I mean, for every airline ticket sold, it cost a lot on the part of the passenger, unlike taxi and local cabs.

Another thing is, when someone searches for flight online, unarguably, she or he must be having an interest to buy a plane ticket sooner or later. If not him or her, at least one of his friends or relatives should do. What does it imply?

It means that, when someone needs to travel by plane, there is no way to say not to. It can’t be done by any means unless if the flight is canceled or rescheduled. Thus, making air travel as the most in demand niche in the market, in which people are paying huge amount.

To make money by telling people where to book the cheapest flights for domestic and international destination, a little skills and knowledge about making simple blog might be necessary. This is just to have an online presence where you can put all the details of what you are going to share.

That is not actually a problem, because anything in this world can be learned. YouTube is the best place to hang out if you want to know anything online, especially when you want something like tutorial thing. If you go to YouTube and search for “how to create blog using wordpress” then you are ready to go and have your first blog and make money.

Below is a video on how to create a blog using WordPress platform, this is a  quick and step by step procedure that a newbie really needs. But, I would suggest for beginners to use Blogger platform because it is free and easy to customize. You can just type in YouTube the keyword " how to create a blogger blog."

The idea here is to become an affiliate partner of some travel sites and airline companies. Being an affiliate, all you have to do is to tell people about a travel site that you are affiliated with. For every purchase made, without your personal intervention, you will be paid.  That’s exactly how it works.

To know more about affiliate marketing by blogging, you can also find a lot of information for free in Google and YouTube.

Make Money by Telling People Where to Book a Hotel

With the understanding about affiliate marketing, you can now also make money by telling people where to book a hotel. This is obviously similar to the idea presented above that tells you how to convert your travel habit into a steady flow of income.

Most of the travel websites incorporate both hotel search and flight search in their search tool. This is due to the fact that if anyone purchases a cheap ticket flights, he must be probably booking a hotel too.  Along with this are car rental services, escorts or tour guide and other travel services.

Make Money by Writing an e-Book

If you have wonderful experiences in your past travels that you think many people may also need to know, you can certainly make huge amount of money by writing your own story. Writing your own story does not need to become professional writer. Just be yourself and express everything that you want to express.

Provided that you have something in your story that can ignite the soul and touch the heart of your readers, then you are ready to go. You can then publish your book in Amazon.com and other online stores. You can even sell it in your own blog. You can also use it as giveaways for people to book a flight or hotel through your blog that you are affiliated with if you want.

turn your travel habit into cash
One of the ideas being taught to make money online in whatever niche is to be a giver of something valuable first before expecting to make money. It means, if you have a blog, be sure that you have something for free for your visitors. Writing an inspirational story or anything valuable in relation to travel is always the best.

There are still lots of ways how to convert your travel habit into a steady flow of income that I have not mentioned here. But the idea about affiliate marketing is fundamental among all. There are many travel sites that invites new affiliate partners that you can register for free. Anytime of the day you can promote their travel site and make money.

To start making money by becoming an affiliate, just follow the link at the footer of this blog that says "be a travel affiliate partner and make huge money."

Best Times to Buy Cheapest Airline Tickets

best time to buy cheapest flights
Is there a true best time to buy cheapest airline tickets? When booking a flight, this question may sometimes boggle in someone’s head. With the desire to avail on cheap airline flights, it is always right to know some little facts that most travelers failed to pay attention to.

Time has been said to be one factor to determine the movement of price for airline tickets. With the unpredictability of airfare online, there is always a perfect time when most of the flights are offered at lower prices by most travel sites. Knowing when exactly it occurs is probably the best strategy to buy cheapest airline tickets.

Booking in advance has been known to be the best way to avail on cheapest offers on airline tickets. But knowing the specific time is still necessary than relying on idea that being advance is enough.
In a report from ABC7 by Eric Thomas and Christine Sze, they presented an interview conducted by Michael Finney with the CEO of CheapAir, Jeff Klee. This is all about when is the exact time airfares are offered at lower prices. And this is the exact answer to the question “when is the best times to buy cheapest airline tickets” so keep on reading..

According to CheapAir, one of the largest flight providers in the internet, they studied over 25 million airline fares since over the years to know the best time to find the cheapest airfare. Jeff Klee stressed out that the best time to buy a ticket in 2012 for domestic flights is 49 days before the travel date or 7 weeks in advance.  This is fairly enough time to prepare.

To find cheapest international flights, considering time, Jeff Klee suggested that 81 days ahead is the best time to book a flight.  That is equal to 11 to 12 weeks 3 months in our calendar.  Jeff Klee created CheapAir.com sometime in 1989, after having crash learning in airline and flights sector. Since then, CheapAir.com became so popular in the Internet and has provided the best offers for flights for over 3 million travelers without any hassle at affordable price.

According to the report, the day of the week to fly can also make a difference on flight prices and it can help to save a lot of money too. Flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are said be cheaper and best time to fly than other ordinary days of the week.

Fridays and Sundays are said to be most expensive according to Jeff Klee.  Flying on Tuesdays sometimes can save $50 than flying on Sundays; this is a huge money saver.  Many people believed that the worst thing a traveler can do is when booking a flight on last minute, knowing that airline tickets prices during this time is high.

But Klee says, the second worst thing a traveler can do is when booking a flight too early.  He said that the usual time a flight is offered or made available for purchase is between 330-335 days in advance. It started at highest price and gradually changes according to some factors.

Another article from CheapAir suggests that, the idea behind the changes of airline ticket price is the fact that, there are days that most people don’t want to fly. Popular days to travel such as weekends are obviously expensive days than regular working days, or when most people are busy.

Considering time in a day, it was also suggested that flights with scheduled departure on 3 am and late at night are much cheaper than flights which will depart at 9am to 3 pm, this is the most comfortable time to travel by the way. You can also watch the video below.

Airline ticket prices are not regulated by the government or any lawyer, it was solely controlled by the airline companies and the travel agents.  One of the factors that can change the flight prices is when tax or additional cost are shown upfront when booking a flight or when discounted price is also shown. But this is not always the case.

Additionally, when two or more passengers are about to travel, it was suggested to book a flight separately. This is because airlines and travel sites require that if more than one airline ticket is sold at the same transaction;   those tickets must have the same price provided that details are the same.

If you buy ticket for two persons and there is still available for one passenger with a price of $200,but there are plenty for two passengers which are sold for $400, you will probably pay for $400 for each ticket. Airlines want to sell tickets in bulk as much as possible to have all seats occupied before flight.

Where to Book a Flight to Find Cheapest Price Online

where to book a flight
One of the questions that most travelers have in mind is where to book a flight to find cheapest price on air tickets. With all different travel sites competing on the first page of Google, you can’t be sure if your choice is the best.

There are some travel sites or flight search engines that can really give you the cheapest flights that suits your budget. But the question is how to find them. Unless you do the search on each of those from by different travel sites and compare their search result, you will never know which one offers the cheapest flight.

Some travel sites like Expedia, Skyscanner, FareCompare are interlinked with other sites.  By just checking the small box, you can compare the result. But this process is so tedious. The moment you clicked the search button in FareCompare for example, eight tabs will open in your browser to compare flights from different websites. If your computer is little bit old, it may crash.

This is a common experience by many travelers who do the booking online. But where to book a flight to find cheapest price on air tickets should no longer be a question. In this article, I’m going to share one of the best flight search engines that crawls 728 airlines and travel agencies to give you the best choice.

With this number of partners offering a flight to hundreds of destinations, you can surely find the cheapest one according to your budget and the details of your travel. The thing here is that, the more sources a flight search engine can crawl, the more possibilities of finding the cheapest flights that matches with the information you have entered. The more the merrier as they said.

Some travel sites are limited only to less than a hundred partner airlines and flight vendors. This is the reason why some flights from other airlines are not visible from other travel sites.  To answer the above question that says “where to book a flight to find cheapest price on air tickets,” the answer is “Book with Jetradar.”

Why Jetradar?

book a flight with jetradar
Okay, here is the story. Before I was convinced that Jetradar is the best flight search engine among all as far as I have tested, I have been having the same question in my mind “Where to really book a flight to find cheapest price?”  I searched articles online to find some other travel sites that Google may not be able to give.

If we rely in Google alone, we can never find the best travel site where we can find cheapest flight. This is not to discredit Google in dealing with online searches.

But due to the fact that, any website or blog can be on the first page of Google even if they really don’t have the best information that we want to know, relying in Google is not that smart approach.

Google has just set a certain standard for webmasters to optimize their websites to become highly visible with Google crawlers. This is done by proper utilization of target keywords, linking profile, content quality and many more. The thing is, anyone can beat Google because Google bot is just a robot, not human.

What I did was, test Google how accurate it is in terms of relevance of the search result to the query. So I went to Google and search for a flight. In the search bar, I typed a keyword that I believed Google would give me the best result. I was searching for cheapest international flights from Oman to Philippines in that test search.

So I used the keyword “cheapest international flight’ plus the airport of origin and destination on it. In short, I used “cheapest international flights Muscat to manila." When I clicked the search button, Google gave me bunch of travel sites. In the paid listings, or those sites that are paying in Google to occupy the first page to gain views, I never have seen any website that uses Jetradar as a flight search tool.

In the organic search result (those list of sites that are ranked by Google in terms of relevance to the query), here comes Kayak, Expedia, Skyscanner, and many more. So I tested each of those travel sites but all of them are just showing maybe the cheapest that they have in their index. So I just kept the record and dig for more.

When I went to Google’s inner pages to see more lists of other travel sites (which Google considered as less relevant  therefore not ranked on the first page), I found out one travel site that uses Jetradar as flight and hotel search tool.

When I do the search in that travel site, Jetradar gave me the best result. During that time, a Philippine based budget airline has just started flying from Dubai to Manila offering a very low airfare. This was Jetradar has showed in the search result, which other travel sites that are ranked on the first page of Google failed to see.

With their huge discounts on flights from Dubai, the price is almost doubled compared with prices on flights I found with travel sites that Google gave me from its first page.  Aside from my own test, there are many online testimonies from some travelers who use Jetradar as their number one flight search tool.

So I would highly recommend using Jetradar when booking a flight.  I did the same test over and over again to confirm this fact and to see the difference. To see the proof of some of the tests I did, just follow the link below.

Dubai to Manila: Best Flight Tips for Filipino International Travelers

Dubai Manila Flight
If you are searching for a flight from Dubai to Manila or Muscat to Manila, like many other travelers, you would also be glad if you can avail the cheapest airline flight possible. We all know that saving some amount on flights can make a huge difference in our budget knowing that flight prices are really that much to pay.

It has been said may times that booking a flight earlier can really help to avail on cheap flights regardless of the airlines. This is due to the reason that as the flight schedule comes nearer, as more seats are being sold, flight rate increases.  So, planning your travel is always the best thing to do. Planning of course includes booking a flight earlier. For anyone  who would frequently fly  Dubai to Manila  or for instance Muscat to Cairo, this may help.

As suggested, a couple of months before or more is the best time to book a flight, the earlier the better. However, this is only possible if you already know your travel date. If your travel occurs unexpectedly, it seems like it would be very hard to avail on cheapest flights, knowing that last minute flights are always expensive. But for every problem as they said, there is always a solution, so just don’t lose hope.

In an article I read online from Maphappy.org, Erika Ho shared a story how she was able to avail on flights from New York to Columbia for as low as $300 instead of $500. By sharing the same strategy that she did, anyone can also avail cheapest flights from Dubai to Manila or Muscat to Manila.

In searching for cheapest international flights, this strategy might be optional. This might be ineffective in some places due to some reasons, but as long as you already   understand the “why” and “how” of it, you can do it in your own way if you would only wish. This strategy may also help a lot even in your domestic flight destination in your own country. If you are not a Filipino, you can of course use this strategy for this is not only good for Muscat to Manila but to all destinations.

To better understand this, we have to know first how airlines and travels sites are operating in the internet. Many have said that flight prices are always unstable; it changes unpredictably with no definite reason. There are articles that say, some seats could be sold for $600 for example in one person, but it could also be availed for a price of $400 and less.

What does it mean? It simply means that, there is no fix rate for a single flight seat. In some online stores, it is called “dynamic pricing online,” in which prices are automatically changed based on the personal information of the traveler who does the booking.

Yes, online stores and travel sites are spying on every person who is currently browsing their website. This is done by encrypting a cookie in their computer browser as they surf the internet for a bunch of reasons. One of the best uses of this small file called “cookie” is for ads targeting.

For most travel sites, they use it to collect information from their possible clients online.  The first thing they have to identify from you is your IP address. By knowing your IP address, they can monitor your location, the gadget that you are using and all your activities online as you use the internet. And all of that stuff will be used against you behind the scene for their favor of course. But how did they utilize that information?

Browsing History

If you are a frequent buyer of anything online, or you have a credit card that was used several times to purchased online, you could be the apple of their eyes. Through browsing history, all URLs that you have previously visited are traced by the cookie in your browser.

Whatever your activity during that period, will be sent into those travel sites for them to give you what price is best for you. If you have been purchasing stuff online, it could open a new possibility that you can afford to pay higher prices compared to those who don’t. As a result, flight price may become higher.

Type of Gadget Used

If you are using a MAC, or any expensive gadgets, you could also be the best sales prospect for any travel sites. Travel sites are having an algorithm to monitor every visitor’s information. Most webmasters understood this, when using Google Analytic to monitor the performance of their websites; Google shows all the details that a visitor has done in a website.

It shows the clicks , pages visited, location, browser being used, and the unit or gadget whether mobile or a desktop computer.  Travel sites are also using the same algorithm to have their little tricks work to generate sales in all angles.

Location

A person’s location is the most important thing a travel site must identify. Through IP address and ZIP code, you can never hide yourself online. According to study, online stores are showing   higher prices for their products on places where the cost of living is quite high. This is based from the idea that people in that place are capable enough to pay expensive deals.

So if you are in New York, you would probably be seeing prices on anything online that would riff your credit card off.  But if you are in Thailand or Philippines, you may not be seeing those roof soaring prices on deals online.

With this in mind,  we can get rid of  becoming a  target by this travel sites and even online stores. There are some ways to mask ourselves when we surf the web or when we visit some travel sites. We can even change our locations into other countries in just few clicks of the mouse.

Use Virtual Private Network

Dubai Manila Flight booking Using VPN
This could be accomplished by using VPN or proxy servers when booking a flight.  VPN means 'Virtual Private Network'  or a private server that you can tap into to access the Internet. Through VPN, you can  hide your real location by hiding your IP address and using the IP address of the location of your choice within your VPN service provider.

There are free and paid VPN services, you can just Google it online. Just bear in mind that your purpose of using it is to hide your real location if you are currently in an expensive and luxurious state. If you are in Muscat Oman and you are scheduled to travel to Manila Philippines, I just don't know exactly if Oman is an expensive country, I probably think not. If yes,  just see the price difference.

If you  travel from Dubai to Manila or any other Arab countries, such as Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and many more, you can also use this strategy when booking a flight. The main  thought here is  just change your location into places with low cost of living.  If you don't have VPN and really don't know how to use it, try to use your relatives in Philippines. Let them do the booking  for you...

It is the first thing in their mind to find cheapest offers on flights before pulling out credit card and make some payment. But the problem many travelers have encountered is the fact that, all prices on flights even in hotels are constantly changing and there is no way to find the cheapest one.

Sometimes one airline or travel site may offer flight at lower price at the moment but after a while, it changes. This will make other airlines or travel sites become the cheaper one. Flight prices are always unpredictable as well as hotels when you check it online. This is because of some automated manipulation of online prices done by most of this travel sites and airline companies.

The Truth about Saving Money

Before revealing those tricks and the simple action plan how to outsmart travel sites with their secrets, let us figure out some strange point of view about saving money. Understanding this may also help to open our mind why we really need to save money. Is it really required or not? If yes, then this could lighten up our mind about the basics on how to save money when booking a flight during travel.

Saving money is just a mind game, you may want it or not, if you have that desire in your mind, you should do something to make it happen. The thing is, the desire to spend less than the normal required amount is always dominant thought that we have every time we are engaged in a situation that we have to buy something. When money is at stake for the service or product that we want, we always have inner intentions not to give it all, as much as possible; it is always better if we pay less and gain more.

So, here comes the idea of saving money every time we need to pay larger amount. Because flights are really necessary but too expensive, we cannot say no to it and we really have the feeling of losing our money if we can’t save some of it. No one can deny that, except for millionaires or those who came from royal families.

The idea of saving money just like when booking a flight emanates from the scarcity mentality that severely corrupted the minds of many people.  This is the belief system that says “I don’t have enough.” Because of this belief, many people become broke, because being broke needs to save money, and whatever a man believes about himself, so shall he become. As being said “as you believe it shall be done unto you.” So will you still save money? Hmnnn…

Simple Guideline to Save Money When Booking a Flight

So here we go, even if I said that saving money   emanates from scarcity mentality, the fact that you can afford to buy your plane ticket, you really are not broke. And so, you may disregard what I have just stated above. That was just an eye opener whether or not to stick into that old belief or to have a little change.

Considering that the need to save money is really necessary and you are about to travel with a tight budget, just follow the simple advice that I am going to reveal, just few more lines below.  This is something   that is against the rules of many travel sites. Provided that you book a flight online at your own, not via offline travel agencies, this certainly works.

Delete Your Browsing History and Cookies Regularly

No matter how much you can afford, you always have the best price that suits your budget. If you have a lot of money, so you have to pay more and you must see higher prices.

Similarly, if you just have enough money to buy a plane ticket by sacrificing the rest of your meals in a week, you may also have the best flight price that suits you budget. The thing is, whether you are poor or rich, you cannot escape from them because you always have the best option for their benefit.

This is the reason why flight prices keep on changing. Most probably, the moment you visit the same travel site for the second time, you will be recognized as returning visitor and you have to see the price difference from the previous ones. You may see offers with “2 seats available at this price” or “price will increase after an hour.” This is called scarcity sales strategy, to make you decide to pull out your credit card, knowing that you may lose the opportunity. But in reality, it was just a trick.

So, by deleting your browser cookies and browsing history regularly, especially when booking a flight for your travel, or anytime when you purchase something online, you will be treated as new comer or a complete stranger in those travel sites. To know more about this, follow the link below that will lead you to the whole details about this trick. By doing so, you can learn more ideas on what to do  not to become a victim of these travel sites.

How to find Cheapest International Flights Online

Due to mysterious fluctuation of flight price when booking a flight online, it is a continuous confusion for many travelers how to really find cheapest flight for international destinations. It seems like there is no specific and concise method to really capture the right price for every flight seat offered in most travel sites.

It is not a matter of asking question like “how to find cheapest international flights,” but what are ways how to save some amount when booking a flight. Certainly, there is no vivid way to find airlines offering cheapest deals on flights for international or domestic destinations. Sometimes one airline may offer cheap flights today but tomorrow or the next day it may change.

If you go to Google, Google does the search for you if you type keywords like ‘cheap airlines’ or ‘cheap flights’ as well as by using the airport of origin and destination in your query.  This is by the way the right method of searching a flight; always include those in your search.

As far as many travelers agreed and based on experience, flight prices are not fixed for one price alone. One airline seat could be sold for $500 or it can be offered as low as $200 in an unpredictable time.

When booking a flight online, flight prices may vary according to the time and days, when was the booking is carried out. Sometimes, when booking a flight on Wednesdays and Fridays, a lot of cheapest flights will be shown by most travel sites.

One way to find cheapest flights online for international destination is when there are promos given by the airlines or sometimes by the travel agent. If you can avail any of this, you would certainly pay less than the normal price, therefore saving some money on your travel.

But to find cheapest international flights online, there are some simple guidelines to follow. In an article from MailOnline entitled “How to Outsmart Airlines to find Cheapest Flights” written by Kris Kitching,  there are some strategies or let us say “basic guidelines”  to find cheapest flights, which are applicable for either domestic or international booking. Some of those guidelines are as follows:

Book at least eight weeks in advance

For domestic or international flights, it is always advisable to book a flight ahead of time. Based on study conducted by Expedia, 50 to 100 days before travel could be enough to find the possible cheapest rate. That is almost equal to 2-3 months in advance.

For international destination, it was suggested that booking in advance of 150 to 225 days is the most effective time span to find the best price to save money on flights. That report was released by Airlines Reporting Corporation. During this period, best deals are usually found on 171th day according to their study.

CheapAir also suggested that the most appropriate time to book a flight is between 29 and 104 days before the desired flight schedule. It is also suggested that it is best to get connected with the airlines to receive some alert if they have some future offers. But most of the airlines will only inform the public in just few weeks before the flight date.   Some online travel companies like Kayak blast out a message to their clients if their price on flights drops.

Book on Sundays or Tuesdays

By calendar monitoring, it was also found out that during Sundays and Tuesdays, whether domestic or international flights, prices usually drop. This is another report by the ARC in relation to their study how to find cheapest flights. It was noticed that sales on flights from online travel companies or those airline partners are sold at very low prices during Sundays and having days after Monday as days with the greatest numbers of booking done.

If you are frequent traveler, it is however suggested to monitor online flight prices in each day within a week because it has been known that flight prices always fluctuates.

However, according to study conducted by FareCompare, the best day to book a flight is Wednesday. The time is early in the morning or sometimes late at night. Those who can manage to sleep during the flight can benefit on it.FareCompare is one of the best providers of cheapest international and domestic flights online.  Previously, they studied hundreds of flights from different online travel companies in Canada and US.

Consider Flight with Stopover

It has been known to many travelers that direct flights are really much expensive than flights with stopovers.  This is an issue between money and time. If time is more valuable during travel, then this idea is not applicable. But if the need to save money is much necessary than saving time, then, this might be the best choice.

Most travelers hate the thought of having to switch planes or stop at an airport and wait for long hours, waiting for the next flight with other airlines. Sometimes it takes 20 hours to wait before you can embark with you connecting flight. Imagine the time wasted if you are the one in this case.

One of my experiences during travel with stopover that may support the statement above happened last April 2015. That was when I traveled from Philippines going back to Oman and have to stay for 8 hours in Dubai Airport, and wait for my connecting flight to Oman at 3am in the morning via Flydubai.

One woman who happened to be a Filipina was also waiting for her connecting flight to Qatar at 11am on the following day. She said, she was there for almost 6 hours. She have to wait for 12 hours more, since I saw her sitting on the floor waiting for her connecting flight to open.

The worst thing she ever told was, her flight has two stopovers, from Philippines to Malaysia, and from Malaysia to Dubai, before she can finally fly to Qatar as her final destination. She said, her flight was arranged by her employment agency in Philippines to save some amount.

This means, via stopovers, flight could become cheaper, but be sure that you are ready to handle the boredom of long waiting hours in some stopovers. So if you hate stopovers, don’t look for much cheaper flights. If you do however, choose stopovers of less than 4 hrs.

There are many more tips to find cheapest flights when booking a flight online which I have not included in this article, to access some of those, just follow the following post.

Muscat to Cairo Flight Only $3.00 from Tripsta.com

how to find cheapest flights
Is this the cheapest international flights ever? I can’t believe if it is true or not. I was sitting in my office preparing for some learning materials for my class at 11:50 am. One of my co-teachers (an Egyptian national) wants me to pay attention to his computer in a bit distant from where I seated.

I just could not say “no” to his demand, so I moved towards him and he showed me something unbelievable.  He was currently browsing the travel site that I created months ago, with a domain name cheapestinternationalflights.net, searching for cheapest flights from Oman to their native land, Cairo Egypt.

We are working in one of the Vocational Training Centers here in Oman as instructors. As the month of July and August is now fast approaching, many of our co-teachers are already booking their flights for a two months vacation.

Most of the Filipinos have already booked a flight via Cebupacific air, a Philippine based budget airline, now flying to and from Dubai. Some of the Egyptians are still searching for best deals on flight to Egypt and so it happened that one of them browsed my travel site.

As I move towards him,   he was staring directly into my eyes and seems to be having a kind of question that he just can’t express due to the fact that, first and foremost, most of them (not all) are having hard times in adopting English as their second language.

With a couple of hand gestures pointing to his computer, I found out that he can’t really agree with what he has just seen right in front of his computer screen. When I look at it with much anticipation, I saw a something that I never have seen in my whole life and that’s really ridiculous.

It was a search result on flights from Jetradar.com showing a long list of flights from Oman to Cairo dated June 24, 2015 departure and August 31, 2015 return date, sold only for $3.00, yes it was only $3.00.

Only 3 dollars flight oman to egypt

When I first saw it, we’re both smiling to each other and he’s a kind of losing trust to the travel site that I created. So I tried to explain. I assumed that maybe the airline is just giving a huge discount on flights or if not the airlines, maybe the travel agency that sells those flights online.

Even if he can’t articulately explain his disbelief, I know very clearly that he cannot really accept the truth if ever my point was right. In short, he’s already ridiculing me and may no longer do the flight search on my travel site.

That was hard by the way. With the intention of convincing him to stay using my travel site, I was able to come up into a new idea just to protect my integrity. I told him that maybe that was just due to the firewall used by the school that filters some of the websites that people are browsing in this vicinity.

And so he agreed and nodded. But before that, I have to explain to him what “firewall” is and why it is being used. To the best of my knowledge, which I am not so certain if I am saying the right thing, I was able to calm him down and make him believed that there is really nothing wrong with my travel site.

When I returned to my table, I have that kind of little confusion and I want to end it up right away. I know that regardless of how cheap an airline was, no matter how old and defective an air carrier may be, flights can never be sold in only $3.00.

So what I did was, I did the search using similar flight information that he entered when he searched cheap airline flights to Egypt using my own laptop. I typed the same information on Jetradar flight search tool in my website and clicked the button that says “FIND.”

When the browser has finished loading, there it is again. A long list of flights from Jetradar search results all at $3.00. When I checked the inner pages knowing that flights are sorted out from cheapest to the expensive one as usually shown by most flight search engines, I found out that flight from different airlines from Oman to Egypt, regardless of the airlines were all offered at the same rate, only $3.00.

I said to myself “this must be crazy” so I took a screen capture of it all and save it on my desktop.  I went to the vendor’s website which was tripsta.com and look for their contact information. Finally, I got their helpdesk email address.

Without wasting time, I opened my Gmail account and started typing words that I have in my mind. I just want to clarify those crazy flight offers from their website. So, with few sentences I have written  I clicked send and there it goes.

After few minutes, I got a confirmation from their no-reply email account that my message was received by their staff and in a few more minutes, somebody from their support team must be sending message to me to address the issue I presented.

To end this crazy story, let me just incorporate here what Tripsta.com replied to my inquiry, shown below.

Cheapest International flight search

With that message from Tripsta.com, my mind was cleared and I showed that message to my Egyptian co-teacher with much explanation for every word on it.  And so, the story was over.

Lessons I learned

1.     Just be cool when something  unexplainable happens

2.     Do not search for cheapest International flights once

3.     Travel agencies are sometimes having their own technical problems
