best time to buy cheapest flights
Is there a true best time to buy cheapest airline tickets? When booking a flight, this question may sometimes boggle in someone’s head. With the desire to avail on cheap airline flights, it is always right to know some little facts that most travelers failed to pay attention to.

Time has been said to be one factor to determine the movement of price for airline tickets. With the unpredictability of airfare online, there is always a perfect time when most of the flights are offered at lower prices by most travel sites. Knowing when exactly it occurs is probably the best strategy to buy cheapest airline tickets.

Booking in advance has been known to be the best way to avail on cheapest offers on airline tickets. But knowing the specific time is still necessary than relying on idea that being advance is enough.
In a report from ABC7 by Eric Thomas and Christine Sze, they presented an interview conducted by Michael Finney with the CEO of CheapAir, Jeff Klee. This is all about when is the exact time airfares are offered at lower prices. And this is the exact answer to the question “when is the best times to buy cheapest airline tickets” so keep on reading..

According to CheapAir, one of the largest flight providers in the internet, they studied over 25 million airline fares since over the years to know the best time to find the cheapest airfare. Jeff Klee stressed out that the best time to buy a ticket in 2012 for domestic flights is 49 days before the travel date or 7 weeks in advance.  This is fairly enough time to prepare.

To find cheapest international flights, considering time, Jeff Klee suggested that 81 days ahead is the best time to book a flight.  That is equal to 11 to 12 weeks 3 months in our calendar.  Jeff Klee created CheapAir.com sometime in 1989, after having crash learning in airline and flights sector. Since then, CheapAir.com became so popular in the Internet and has provided the best offers for flights for over 3 million travelers without any hassle at affordable price.

According to the report, the day of the week to fly can also make a difference on flight prices and it can help to save a lot of money too. Flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are said be cheaper and best time to fly than other ordinary days of the week.

Fridays and Sundays are said to be most expensive according to Jeff Klee.  Flying on Tuesdays sometimes can save $50 than flying on Sundays; this is a huge money saver.  Many people believed that the worst thing a traveler can do is when booking a flight on last minute, knowing that airline tickets prices during this time is high.

But Klee says, the second worst thing a traveler can do is when booking a flight too early.  He said that the usual time a flight is offered or made available for purchase is between 330-335 days in advance. It started at highest price and gradually changes according to some factors.

Another article from CheapAir suggests that, the idea behind the changes of airline ticket price is the fact that, there are days that most people don’t want to fly. Popular days to travel such as weekends are obviously expensive days than regular working days, or when most people are busy.

Considering time in a day, it was also suggested that flights with scheduled departure on 3 am and late at night are much cheaper than flights which will depart at 9am to 3 pm, this is the most comfortable time to travel by the way. You can also watch the video below.

Airline ticket prices are not regulated by the government or any lawyer, it was solely controlled by the airline companies and the travel agents.  One of the factors that can change the flight prices is when tax or additional cost are shown upfront when booking a flight or when discounted price is also shown. But this is not always the case.

Additionally, when two or more passengers are about to travel, it was suggested to book a flight separately. This is because airlines and travel sites require that if more than one airline ticket is sold at the same transaction;   those tickets must have the same price provided that details are the same.

If you buy ticket for two persons and there is still available for one passenger with a price of $200,but there are plenty for two passengers which are sold for $400, you will probably pay for $400 for each ticket. Airlines want to sell tickets in bulk as much as possible to have all seats occupied before flight.
